Tiramisu, you won’t believe how easy it is
Tiramisu is my emergency dessert. Even thought it’s marketed as a special treat in Italian restaurants, it’s one of the easiest to prepare. The main ingredient, mascarpone cheese, is internationally popular nowadays and you find it in many shops. I want to share with you my family recipe and I guarantee you can produce this dessert in less than 30 minutes. Traditionally, tiramisu contains liquor and coffee. I’ll include those ingredients as optionals and show my kid-friendly version.
Ingredients (8 portions)
4 eggs
5 tbs of sugar
500 g of mascarpone cheese
200 g of ladyfinger biscuits / Digestive / dry cookies
200 ml of decaf coffee, with half teaspoon of sugar
powder chocolate
(optional: 2 tbs of brandy or your favourite liquor)
Instructions
Separate the yolks and the whites. Whisk the former with the sugar until they become foamy and clear. Add the cheese and keep mixing until homogeneous. Whisk the whites until stiff and mix them to the cream, mixing with care from the bottom upwards.
Soak the cookies into the (decaf) coffee and create a base on the container you’ll serve the dessert in. I usually put two layers of thin cookies on the bottom and one layer on the sides.
Pour the cream and make it even with a spoon. Sift the chocolate powder on top and keep in the fridge.
Here you are, just like that. This is one of my favourite desserts. It’s easy and everyone – kids included – loves it. If you try my recipe, let me know and send me a pic, I’ll be happy to publish them here in the post and link back to your blog.

March 29, 2018 at 9:58 pmI’m fascinated that you’ve made it with biscuits. I am wheat free and suitable traditional ladyfingers are hard to get but every supermarket has GF biscuits so will give it a try. Pinned for later, will let you know how I get on! Thanks for linking up with #globalblogging
